ABOUT THE UPCOMING SIRIUS SHOW

ACT: SIRIUS, THE BRIGHTEST

16 NOV 2025 | 15.00
Dance Visual Acts

It has been a Body Expressive’s annual tradition to perform at the Antwerp Central Station. In this beautiful, majestic architecture a creation, an imagination of dance and music intersects with a public.

ABOUT THE 2025 SHOW – SIRIUS

Sirius is the brightest star in our night sky — its name, rooted in ancient Greek, means “glowing.” For our 2025 show, Sirius is more than a celestial reference; it’s a feeling. It’s about you shining like the brightest star above.

This performance will be an invitation to let your inner light break through — to move, express, and glow in your own way. Our shared task will be to build a space, a story, and a rhythm that brings out your most radiant self.

At its heart, Sirius tells a simple story — a glimpse into the ordinary moments of a day in our lives. But through vibrant music, playful burlesque flair, shimmering costumes, and a touch of sparkle, we’ll remind ourselves of something important: every day is as magical as we choose to make it.

The Heart of the Show

What makes our shows, as SIRIUS truly unique was its cast — a community of dancers ranging from complete beginners to experienced performers. Some had never set foot on a stage before. And that was the point.

This is not about perfection. It was about connection — to self, to others, to the audience. Dancers are encouraged to feel, to express, and to adapt in the moment. Emotion was the true choreography.

CREATIVE WORK

SHOW DIMENSIONS – A Journey Through Three Realities

What if dance could speak the language of emotion, physics, and soul all at once?

Dimensions was more than a show — it was a journey through three different layers of reality, told through movement, sound, and human connection. This one-hour performance invited the audience into an immersive experience of inner reflection, cosmic wonder, and creative energy.

In 2024, Dimensions came to life in the breathtaking hall of Antwerpen Station, turning a public space into a portal of story and movement. The performance was also captured and transformed into a book-like dance video — a visual storybook made of choreography, poetry, and presence.

The journey began with Alpha, a deeply personal act that explored the universal experience of being a woman in dialogue with society’s expectations — a poetic mirror reflecting strength, vulnerability, and identity. From there, we moved into Meta, where the human form dissolved into stardust and spirit, transcending the physical world to touch the mysterious, supernatural essence of our nature — a dance of inner conflict and cosmic connection. Finally, The Frequency wove together color, sound, and movement into a vibrant pattern of energy, revealing the invisible threads between music, matter, and emotion — a sensory fusion of art, physics, and feeling that resonated long after the last note faded.

Concept:  Katarzyna Morton (Kate) with a choreographers team Alina Cirsu, Katrien Gillé, Audrey Pellissier,

Become Our Sponsor

Dance Visuals of Body Expressive is where art, freedom, and community come together. What began just three years ago as a small, one-time performance has grown into a powerful movement. From that first Alpha Act, our community’s creativity has expanded across Belgium and beyond — bringing together people of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. Today, our projects transform iconic spaces like Antwerpen Central Station into vibrant stages full of energy, inclusion, and expression. We’re now seeking sponsors and partners to help us carry this momentum even further — supporting creativity, community health, and inclusive artistic growth.

FREQUENCIES

FREQUENCY is about the powerful connection between emotions, sound, and color – the invisible frequency that builds and intersects our world.

The Frequency was our newest creation for the 2024 season — a vibrant and immersive piece that we performed at both Leuven Theatre (Dansvloer Leuven) and the iconic Antwerpen Central Station. It brought together movement, color, and energy in a powerful exploration of emotion and resonance.

META ACT

META ACT is about two dimensions of our existence. We are a species that belongs to the Universe, but we are also flawed, Earthy humans. In META our higher selves, the supernatural version of us, discover the touch of humanity and fall into a conflictual relationship with it.

Meta Act I premiered at the Dansvloer Festival in 2023 and later evolved as part of the Dimensions show in 2024 — with more to come.

ALPHA ACT ANTWERPEN

STATUS: OPEN for the 2024 performance

ALPHA ACT is about the female experience is unique, yet universal. Nurturing, yet full of rage. Confined to a strict set of rules and expectations, yet free and non-conforming. The Alpha Act was born out of a desire to paint a picture of the woman in our society. To achieve this, our teachers have put together a series of choreographies that blend into a cohesive story – our story. From a protector, to a temptress, to an innocent creature and a being full of rage, Alpha Act promises to walk everyone through the maze that is the mind and the body of a woman, in all of its shapes, sizes or forms.

ALPHA ACT is not only a show, but a social statement. Performing it in a beautiful city of Antwerpen was an act of voicing our feelings within the society and sharing the experience.  THE VIDEO  BELOW

ALPHA ACT DANSVLOER

ALPHA ACT which portrays a full dimension of the female experience is an emotional, non-stereotypical act of expression in which students’ feelings are channeled and shaped into creation. The dance performance in the Stadsschouwburg Leuven was a part of an amazing local Dansvloer festival that brought together different dance groups and dance schools. It gave our students an opportunity to show “Expression-focused” way to dance and build a stage experience.

There is something releasing, liberating and unforgettable in dancing with a big, diverse, like-minded group of people in inspiring locations in all the yearly seasons.   Welcome to “The Epilogue” project! The Epilogue is a short but emotionally intense choreography created by Kate to the track 2WEI feat.Edda Hayes – Survivor (Destiny’s Child Remix).  Everyone is welcome to participate in our public and video performances, regardless of their experience.

The Epilogue isn’t only meant to be a “performance” but also a mental and physical experience for the public and for participants alike.

FAQs

Here are some frequently asked questions.

Can I join if I am shy or/and I don’t have experience?

Yes, and you certainly should. Half of our students that you see in our Dance Visuals came here with the same question and with fear of being “too shy”, “too inexperience” or simply “incapable”. This is normal to feel it. But we are using a special method of teaching called “Body Expressive Method”, in which we focus on reducing psychological barriers, show how to use emotions and expression in dance and thanks to that we believe we can make everyone thrive. It is on our team to guide you and make you feel great, so you do not have to worry, as it is not your responsibility to “be enough” but ours to get you there.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT OPTIONS TO JOIN?

You can join the FULL SHOW run as a core-viusal member by subscribing to a yearly Visual Package (356 Euro a year and 276 Euro for students). The plus of this membership is more economical price, and you are the first in line for all locations performances in which our space limited (in line to the enrollment/payment date).

You can join FULL SHOW quarterly membership, which means you will be enrolling to quarters, each 3 months. (95 Euro a quarter and 85 Euro for students.)

You can join MINI SHOW run, which is joining one additional choreography built especially for busy people that can not commit to more. (65 Euro per quarter and 230 Euro annually).

HOW THE REHEARSALS AND PREPARATION WORK?

We are organizing a flexible way to rehearse, to be sure we can accommodate all ages, professions and people that have different learning schemes. We understand that people are busy with their duties and want to be sure that you are not excluded because of it.

The show practices are on Mondays 20.00 – 21.00, each second day of the week. There are additional weekend rehearsals held in Autumn prior to shows (several of them, so you have a choice). You can skip some of the rehearsals as long as you practice home from provided “home-schooling” material. You can also choose the amount of choreographies that you take on board.

THE PERSPECTIVE

Our main purpose of VISUALS is to create an experience and expression of a theme or a topic we portray. The authentic emotionality and presence of personalities of our students matter to us more than “traditional” performative “look for clean choreography”. Of course, we strive for the greatest performance possible, but our creations are evocative. They intend to communicate deep emotion to the public and ourselves and become a space that allows for self-connection and liberty. We look at dance and visuals from a different, non-classical perspective and hope to give this clear energy to the outside world. Therefore, whatever experience you had or imagined having before – let us surprise you.
